Introducing Aurelion Sol, the Star Forger

Riot has revealed a new champion today: Aurelion Sol, the Star Forger!

"Aurelion Sol is mere weeks from his Rift debut, and he's bringing one hell of a big bang along for his grand entrance. He’s a medium range mage who deals devastating sustained area of effect damage with his orbiting stars. And when he’s got somewhere to be, the Star Forger can take to the skies, flying over terrain while nurturing his very own fledgling apocalypse."

Aurelion Sol is a mid-range mage who deals the brunt of his damage from his passive, Center of the Universe, which encircles him in three stars that orbit him. These stars do magic damage and apply spell effects to the enemies they strike. This means in the lane phase, he's constantly trying to hit the enemy with his stars while still managing to last hit minions and avoid harassment from his opponent. His passive also gives him a natural AoE, making him an excellent wave clearer. He's not limited to his passive though, as his basic attacks are also ranged.

This comes into play with his E, Comet of Legend, which lets him travel a long distance over terrain. This makes him a very effective roamer as he can push out his lane and look for gank opportunities. The ability to push a wave then quickly get elsewhere is very valuable in this season's meta so it's likely that he will be a contested pick in both ranked queues and perhaps even competitive
